More Life Lessons from the Cemetery

I went and visited my grandparents grave this evening. The picture above is from when they were very first married and they were in the Salvation Army together. As I reflected upon the lives that they led I was reminded of just how grand life can be. Life just seems to be a series of events that we experience...some are happy, some are sad, some are poignant, but all are worthy. Although we may not really understand or be able to comprehend why some things are happening, we just have to rest in the fact that all are worthy.

I really put myself out there. I opened me up and gave everything that I had at that moment to give. It didn't work out the way that I wanted it to, but I must believe that it worked out in the way it was supposed to. Rejection is a funny thing. No, really. It's funny. Because when we are absolutely rejected in the "I know you can't imagine life without me but I can imagine life without you" kind of way, we come to realize exactly what that stuff is that we're made of. And you know what? I'm made up of pretty strong stuff.

I am going to be fine.

no matter what it seems like at the time, things can always be worse, and sometimes its grace that causes things to not work out the way we were hoping, so something better can come along...
