Heat Transfer

Ashley explained today why we're not allowed to turn on our heater (even though it's 22 degrees outside and today/tonight we're looking at snow/sleet/etc.)

Heat transfer.

We're on the second floor and therefore the apartment below us heats our apartment because, as you know, heat rises.

Can't I just go to sleep until she graduates in May?

Then how come she hasn't risen to the ceiling due to all the hot air in her head?

Turn on the heat anyway.
That bitch is tiny. You could totally take her.
She will really be hating life when the pipes freeze and the apt complex holds all of you responsible.

I agree with -- and find hilarious -- everything fictionfiend said.

Oh, you should also remind her that cold air descends, so the cold air outside is descending through the ceiling. And when warm air rises and cold air descends, you get turbulence, which might shake the whole apartment and, say, bounce her ass into a window or wall or something.

Fight stupidity with false logic.

False logic is my favorite kind of logic. Ask David...he can attest.

You should just ignore her, and turn the heat up.

If she bitches, punch her.

You live there too.

Have you met her? She's a bully. And I don't handle bullies well...I never have. She calls it "assertive" or using her "power". But all it boils down to is that she's a bully.

"I don't handle bullies well...I never have"

And with that attitude, you never will.

Until you stand up for yourself, the only person responsible for you being freezing cold in your apartment is you.

Hey, I totally agree. I'm a total wuss and I've made my peace with that. I'm not blaming the cold on anyone else, I'm just complaining about it. I like to choose my battles and I only like to fight for things that are really important. Besides, I've already picked a fight with her this week regarding the BELLS ON THE CATS™ so I think I'll wait a week or so before fighting over this too.
