Actual Email Conversation

Me: I made my boss laugh today when he said he was going to the Masters this week and he wasn't allowed to have his cell phone with him during the tournament. My response was something like, "I guess that'll happen at tennis matches." Also, I just spelled Detroit "Detrout".

David: Interestingly, that was the original spelling. It was named that because there was a particularly good trout stream that the trappers used, but they over fished it and so they said that it had been 'detrouted'. That slowly got kind of corrupted and became "Detroit" because somebody thought it had been a French name.

Me: I think you're making that up.

David: :D
