'Nother Health Update

So far every test they've run looks great. No tumors or anything in my brain (had 3 MRIs yesterday.) All the tests for MS have come back normal and everything so far looks good. Next week I meet with an ophthalmologist to discuss my blurred and double vision and then later that week I meet with a rheumatologist to discuss my joint/muscle issues.

My guess is that the falling/losing balance was due to an inner ear infection that wasn't diagnosed. I had been on two rounds of antibiotics and one round of steroids during the pneumonia and the inner ear test wasn't done until I had almost completely finished those treatments. The falling has definitely improved, however, I am still getting dizzy and having the vision problems. Hopefully the ophthalmologist will be able to help with both of those (assuming they're related.)

As for the joint/muscle pain, I still assume it's either another Lupus flare-up or Rheumatoid Arthritis. Either way, the treatments aren't too horrible and if one of those is the diagnosis, I should be back to "normal" within a few months.

All in all, so far pretty great news. Nothing horrible or surgery worthy and since I've been through one cycle of Lupus treatment before I know I can survive it with relatively little discomfort. I was able to take an oral chemotherapy treatment called methotrexate and really helped to get me back on my feet. The treatment for both conditions is very similar so all should be well if one of those is wins the prize for correct diagnosis. (And I might just provide sexual favors to one of the four doctors working on this that can finally figure out what's wrong!)

I will let you know more next week after I've met with the next two doctors. In the meantime I'll be taking it easy, hanging out with my boys and my pets and attempting to not poke my eyes out because of the lack of awesomeness on tv right now. (I really need to update my Netflix information.)
