Oh Sad Day

So today the news came out that the UB will be closing down next week. 'Tis a sad day indeed. It's through the UB that I met David, Emilie, OhioDave™, Jet, Jed, Ryan, Becky, Anthony, Jason, Brigette, MLL, Gwyn, GoodGod, Liam, Weej, and so many more awesome people that it'd be impossible to name them all.

Today I made my 5000th post over on that board. Maybe that makes me a total dork but for whatever reason, it made me proud.

In a round about way, it's because of the UB that I'm in Dallas now. It's because of the UB that I have made some of the best friends that I've ever had in my life. It's because of the UB that my life has changed so drastically in the last year or so.

It really is a sad day to know that the board is ending. No more chat, no more Real World, no more Word Association Game...

Here's hoping we don't lose touch. I'm feeling nostalgic...and yes, sad. The UB was the first web community that I was ever truly a part of. And now it's going away.

I would just like to say that as amazing as this year has been, there have been many bad things that have happened too. I'm kind of looking forward to showing 2005 the door in a couple of days. Stupid purplebelly moderators.

Hi, I post on the UB as Claz, also known as Clarry.

I agree with totally with you.
This site has made me so many friends. Even today I was out with two Browncoats I had met at Serenity Squared Convention in November and a friend who is visiting for a week from Poland. She has watched the first disc of Firefly and is wanting to watch the rest on New Years Day with a hangover!

We would not all be meeting up without this site.

On a personal level, I have read a lot of what you have said Ms Springs and have always been interested and often enlightened by your comments.

I must admit in the past 6 months I have mainly posted to antagonise very, very "extreme" posters on the Real World Discussion. But thats just my way!

Take care SerenitySprings and your firends. Perhaps we'll meet up elsewhere in cyberspace, or I could drop in here on occasion from the jolly old UK.

Oh it's so sad, but the new digs look mighty shiny. So awesome that you reached 5000 posts yesterday. You always posted something worth reading. See ya on the other site.

I'm glad we have a new place to hang it's just that the UB has been such an awesome thing for me. I can't believe it's ending.

I've enjoyed reading all of your posts, Claz & Hans. It'll be hard for us to all find and maintain the same new home but hopefully I'll see you both around wherever we land.
