Enrolling Again

So now I'm all enrolled for "SPRING SEMESTER 2006!". I'm taking 14 hours this semester which is 2 less than I took last time. Should be a good time. (And by good time I mean "Ugh.")

I'm taking the following courses:

American Public Policy (3 hours)
American Political Institutions (3 hours)
Politics of Judicial Process (3 hours)
The Oceans (3 hours)
Geologic Time (1 hour)
Global Climate Change (1 hour)

I have to take 5 more hours of science because UTD requires more science than NOC did and rather than take any math this semester (since, you know, math is hard) I'm just going to knock out those 5 hours of sciency things in one fell swoop.

I was looking at my tuition and my bill came to almost $17,000 for this semester. That totally freaked me out. But I went and met with The Guy and he was able to knock it down to somewhere between $3000 and $4000 by doing some paperwork and turning me into a Texas resident. Now, granted, I'm only a resident of Texas for enrollment purposes...I still have to live here for 4 more months before I can claim to be a Texan.

(Oddly enough, when David was in Dominica he saw a truck with Dominican plates that had a bumper sticker on it that said "Native of Texas" or something like that. That amused me.)

Luckily I don't have any night classes this semester but as penance for that bit o' good luck I do have to be at class at 8 a.m. EVERY SINGLE DAY OF THE WEEK excluding Friday. Damn it, Jim.

In related news, I have that dickhead professor again - you know, the one who accused me of plagiarism last semester. I'm not really looking forward to having him again but I really had no choice since I waited so long to enroll (for reasons that are too varied, great, and personal to even BEGIN to try to list here) that most of the classes I needed were already too full. Anyway, we'll see how that goes. Considering the fact that he failed me on the final and I ended up with a "C" in that class, I'm thinking it's probably not gonna go too well. But you know what? Fuck him. I didn't cheat, I wouldn't cheat, and he can just kiss my ass. (Mostly I'm just pissed that I'm going to have to retake the class I had with him last semester because of the "C". Can't very well expect to get into the law school of my choice after garnering a "C" in Constitutional Law, now can I?)

Does UTD have "force ads" (I think that's what they're called)
Where you can go to the prof at the beginning of the semester and ask to be added to their class?
There's usually a form for them to sign off on.

Were you late enrolling because of your concussion? :P

Oh hell yeah. I'm riding this concussion wave as LONG as I can!

also, there are bound to be some drop outs, so keep checking classes and see if you can get into one that someone has dropped out of...

otherwise, just smile at the professor like "Im still here..."
