Dream

Last night I had a dream that I was in San Diego trying to find Ocean Beach. I don't know why I needed to be in Ocean Beach but I knew it was very important that I get there. All around me were car beds (like the kind kids sleep in) with prostitutes in them. They kept wanting me to come work with them but I refused. I kept asking them how to get to Ocean Beach but they wouldn't help me unless I worked with them first. They kept saying it was the only way I could understand and find Ocean Beach.

All of a sudden I was a caregiver for children and these two kids in particular kept lying to me and trying to break my computer and picking on the other kids. I slapped both of them across the face and their parents were very upset and called the cops. The cops kept chasing me so all of a sudden instead of walking I was on a bicycle that had a broken right pedal.

I was in a courthouse asking the clerks where 4933 Cape May Avenue was and they couldn't help me. They kept asking why I needed to go there and every time I tried to explain that I used to live there and that Mindy had lived there relatively recently they would just look at me very sadly and say things like, "Oh no" or "I'm so sorry" and the like. In one of the two courthouses that I was in Becky showed up with me, as if she'd been there all along. I started using a fake accent because I was bored with asking the same questions over and over again and also because it made Becky laugh. We finally left and decided we would just find it ourselves. As we were leaving one of the clerks secretly told us that we were going the wrong way and should go the other way instead.

We went into restaurants and dry cleaners and bookstores and everywhere. There were always a bunch of dirty hippies around and everyone refused to help us. Everything was very rustic and made out of wood. Benches, walls, floors, shelves, ceilings, sidewalks, dishes, books, shoes, everything.

I tried very hard to ride my bike up a very steep hill but was failing so eventually I had to just walk it up the hill. All of a sudden the bike was gone and I was walking again and Becky saw a swing-set and ran over to it just like a little kid. A guy ran at me really fast and knocked me over. I knew he was going to rob us or rape us or something so I tried to keep my eyes on him at all times so he couldn't surprise us again but he was moving so fast that I couldn't keep up with him.

Then my phone rang in real life and I woke up and felt disappointed because I realized I would never find Ocean Beach.

So now you're dragging me into your weird-ass dreams.

Know what makes that extra screwed-up?
I was talking to Amiee the other day about the fact that I get 2 weeks' paid vacation next year, and where would I go if I had the money.
Sand Diego was one of the places I mentioned.
Also, when I lived in Virginia, I would sometimes go to the park down the road and swing on the swingsets, just to get out of the house and enjoy the outdoors for a while.
GET OUT OF MY HEAD!

I'll get out of your head as soon as YOU get out of my dreams! You are apparently my dream girl! :)

Really, I would hope you would have better taste than that...

The Germans discovered it in 1904, and they called it "San Diego", which in German means "whale's vagina."

Sorry, we watched Anchorman last week an this was what was running through my head the entire time I was reading about your dream.

Duh--you were already in OB: steep hill, dirty hippies, broken bike, everything made of wood, etc. But it's HOME!
THE Mindy.
PS And we all miss you and Jack
