Health Update

Last night I slept for 7 1/2 hours without taking the sleeping tranquilizer that my doctor prescribed to me. That's a good thing. A very good thing.

I've now had two official medical diagnosis. One is the severe vitamin D deficiency (I think the steady diet of cow breast milk and sun is doing its job) and the second is syncope.

Basically syncope means that I lose consciousness for a few seconds when I stand too fast from a bending position or sitting/laying position or do something that would cause my blood pressure to fall too quickly. Lying down I had a BP of 138/72 and standing up it was 90/30. So, looks like we've figured out what's going on with all the falling and fainting spells. Yay!

So next I see my primary care physician who will do some checking of my medications to see if there's any changes that need to be made there, then I'll get an EKG, and from there I'll visit a cardiologist.

I had Rheumatic Fever about eight years ago so my heart valves need to be checked to make sure they're not involved in this blood pressure thing.

So, it's wait and see time again. But at least it's not MS! Stupid doctors.
