Interesting...

Today in my Philosophy class we were discussing the different ethical views included in Philosophy. The discussion was actually kind of lame because I go to school with a bunch of dumbasses but there was one portion of the textbook that stood out:
"Depression, they say, is the organism's defense against the pain of rejection, it is an idling of the human organism that prevents the violent pain from tearing it completely apart. It is a substitute form of suffering, more tolerable than the one it masks."
